(READ) FG Reduces Pump Price of Fuel To N87

What Diezani Alison-Madueke said
this evening as she announced a
reduction in fuel price...

As you may be
aware, there has
been a lot of
volatility in the oil
market in the past
few months and
due to this the
importation prices
of our petroleum
products have
been impacted.
Therefore, with the
approval and
directive of Mr.
President and by
virtue of Section 6
clause 1 of the
Nigerian Petroleum
Act, it is my
responsibility as
Minister of
Petroleum
Resources to
hereby announce a
reduction in the
pump price of
Petroleum Motor
Spirit (Petrol) from
the current Ninety
Seven Naira
(=N=97) per litre
pump price down
to Eighty Seven
Naira (=N87=) per
litre pump price,
effective from
twelve (12)
midnight Sunday,
18th of January
2015.

Accordingly, I have directed the
Petroleum Products Pricing
Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the
Department of Petroleum Resources
(DPR) to ensure strict compliance of
this price adjustment by all
marketing companies.
It is my hope that all Nigerians will
benefit from this adjustment. I
thank you and God Bless you all.
Diezani Alison-Madueke
(Mrs.) CON
Honourable Minister of Petroleum
Resources

Event: The City Kids Show Presents 2nd Edition Of 'Parents Forum With Aunty Bimbo'| @bimztheory, @city1051, @taiwoakinlami

Are you a parent? Do you interact with children in any way, form or manner ? If yes, What would you be doing on the last Sunday of this month (January)? The City Kids Show with Aunty Bimbo has put together the second edition of an interactive Parents Forum to deliberate on the way forward for our children as they resume 2nd term in their various schools. When there was the Ebola scare in the country, we all  learnt the protective measures against Ebola very FAST! This included regular hand-washing and regular use of hand sanitiser among other things. However, what measures have you learnt as a parent or guardian, to protect your children and wards from child sexual abuse? Asides choosing a good school for your children based on the name, prestige, location and structure of the school, are there child protection measures put in place by that school? How about in religious institutions like our churches and mosques?. What protection measures are in place when you drop your children off at the Sunday School or Children's church? This is not the time to leave things to chance. Statistics show that a child is being molested every other day in different parts of Nigeria. Let our children not become part of these statistics. Let's come together and learn the steps to look out for and the policies to ensure are put in place as regards this. United Nations Children's fund, UNICEF Consultant and Child Protection Specialist, Taiwo Akinlami will be on ground to enlighten us further. With 18 years of experience, his influence goes even beyond the shores of Nigeria. He is arguably Africa’s foremost Child Protection Practitioner, author of 5 handbooks, 21 Audio Programs and 4 e-books which have been well received in over 116 nations and 6 continents of the world. Meanwhile, convener of the event, Bimbo Olasope (Bimztheory), is an On Air Personality with City105.1Fm with excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, skills as a teacher and motivational speaker via The City Kids Show and Singspiration Zone Show which she anchors on radio. She is very passionate about adding value to people around her and as the content producer and presenter of The City Kids Show ,she nurtures many children through her exceptional and innovative teaching styles and is also a major advocate on the fight against Child Abuse both sexually and physically. The first edition of the Parents Forum held last year August with the theme: Raising & Nurturing Children In The Internet Age. However, the theme of this second edition is: Child Protection Measures In Schools And Religious Institutions. Date: Sunday 25th January 2015 Time: 2-6pm Venue: 2nd Floor, Big Treat Building, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja Lagos This event is FREE and parents can come along with their children as there is a game arcade at the venue where they can have fun while parents brainstorm to ensure their future is well PROTECTED!
